Photograph Attachments Limits Of 120 KB

Date: 2nd May 2009
Could someone please explain to me as to why no photograph attachment posted on here cannot exceed 120 KB?
In my opinion this seems to be far too small, and as a consequence I am unable to submit an ever increasing number of pictures to this forum page.
I also understand that there might be some software programmes available that can actually reduce the size of an original photograph.
Do other forum contributors use this method of reducing the size of the original picture down to 120 KB prior to posting it it on here?
Any constructive help and assistance concerning this matter would be gratefully received.

If you have some photo software you can resize for the web, if not download Windows Live Photo Gallery ( free ) and you can resize in that software

Not sure why the limit is 120kb, I guess to keep space down on the server, and so cost?
As for resizing - Microsoft Office Picture Manager comes as part of most Office bundles, it will allow you to compress or resize photos easily, have a look from the start button, "All Programs", then "Microsoft Office" which will get you to Excel, Word etc, and you can find it in "office tools". Hope this helps

Many thanks Andy and Havoverian for this useful information.
Hopefully I will soon be able to actually master this Mircrosoft Office Picture Manager. If successful this should enable me to submit quite a few more photographs to the website forum page.
