Ahhhh... Those were the days. When men wore really, really tight jods and long jackets to protect their modesty. I expect when they are in the stable together it's a different story. I can see her ripping his jacket off and having a damned good rummage in is breeches!!

Not sure the second one is from the 70s: check the hat and the baby buggy in the background. Love them, though.
Mid 1970's Horse Riding Wear

To answer your question Andy yes I do believe that equestrian riding wear was a whole lot sexier, and far superior in quality, when it was produced during the mid 1970's to the late 1980's.
I've never been a great fan of either pleated or baggy riding breeches and I've always prefer them to be in a light colour. (ie beige or off white)
As for all these contempoary multi-coloured / check fashion type jodhpurs, well, as far as I am concerned, the least said about them the better.
In response to Caldene's remark concering the second photograph you are quite right. It is not a genuine mid 1970's picture, but a fake monochrome one.
