MY FIRST BOOTS were COLT-CROMWELL'S made in the USA by SERVICE RIDING APPAREL, I think in Boston. They were the least expensive boots one could buy (in the 50's) and they started about $95 a pair. You can occasionally see them on e-bay for about $125. They looked good and fit well and the kind of stiff shafts I like (I actually like them stiffer than these). Basically they are several inches shorter than the standard dressage boots like Petrie's (my favorite). They also came in brown and our police force used to wear them.
