I used to have them by Dehner, by Der Dau, and my favorites were by Effingham and you can see them on A NICE WORLD OF RIDING BOOTS under the name Jay F. I did buy this model from Boots For Guys and am saving up for another pair with a stiffer lining. They are MOST fun to wear, even under trousers where only I know that I have them on. Best for winter though, believe me. These were all made in France and the model you showed me, after breaking in a bit. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT AND IF YOU KNOW OF ANOTHER BRAND, I will appreciate knowing. (As you see, I practice what I preach, now to find that female soul-mate who has these too!

If you Google JEAN GABORIT, you'll get their site for women's styles but if you want the stiffer lining (and I hope you do), you have to order from the Guy's site. The women's styles are all much thinner leather and lining, as you have probably seen.

If you PM me, I can send you the name of the man you can contact after you see the site and decide what you want. They are expensive but so are most hobbies, right?
They seem stiff but after you break the knees and ankles in that's all that matters.

The JOEL BOOTS site might be Googled and his boots are made in Tiawan. GABORIT is a French company.

All of these are custom to your leg measurements and that can be tricky on thigh boots that are stiff.
