I was only seven but I wanted boots for playtime in the back yard. I found that I could cut an inner tube in half (or thirds) and it made a pretty good pair of boots if you had an imagination. This photo reminded me of that time.

My fantasy today is that some rubber boot maker would make a pair of lined rubber thigh high boots that really looked like English riding boots, not fishing boots.
I would buy at least two pairs!

How many of us got our jollies simply by seeing people in riding boots in COMIC BOOKS or the funny pages!

well i think the closest they have come to fullfilling your fantasy was the now defunct production of the rubber aquo boots as seen in the attached photo, not perfect but close to ridingboots class, spoiled by the raised heel and you are dead on, in the long ago days before computers and the internet we did get out jollies from comic books and the odd jungle movie or western with women in jods and english ridingboots, cum to think of it, those were the days, LOL
